Have you seen this yet?

When you log in to Farmville today, you likely will, if you have not, already.

What do you think of being asked to "enable an upgrade" with no details whatsoever about what you would be allowing - and better yet, no opt out option?

As you can see from the image there is no x button - reloading your game without hitting that OK button does not work - it will be there when you come back.

Some people go from here to a Allow permissions dialog and can opt out there - but for some of us lucky souls, it just seems to give itself whatever permissions it wants and disappears.

What Zynga wants, this time, is for you to allow it to publish whatever the hell it wants about whatever you're doing in the game to whoever it wants.

Because, of course, whatever you are doing in the game is so obviously so very important to everyone else - and they are, apparently, all too stupid to figure out what you're doing by what you post. Because after all, Zynga's developers are convinced that everyone that plays Farmville IS stupid - we have had plenty of evidence of that.

Perhaps they also think that we're too stupid to figure out how to go back in and change our Privacy settings for the Farmville application too...so if they can trick us into changing them with this ridiculous pop up, we will just leave them alone.

*sigh* Farmville used to be such a good little time-suck.

These days, what with ridiculous quests that require that we collect ridiculous building parts (not available in special delivery boxes because, you know, that would just be too easy) to make ridiculous things that generate ridiculous "prizes" - and the ever increasing prices of things - and manipulative gimmicks like this - I don't know why I bother with it any more.

Even the trees are losing their attraction for me - they have increased the prices to 7FC for a level 1 ...which means that instead of buying 2, I only buy 1, and it takes that much longer to master them....

Smarten up, Zynga!!
